DGAR stresses security of Indo-Myanmar border

Assam Rifles Inspector General's Conference 2024 was held at Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles (DGAR), Laitkor in Meghalaya capital Shillong on Wednesday and Thursday.
The conference chaired by DGAR lieutenant general Vikas Lakhera was attended by formation commanders, battalion commanders, and staff officers from DGAR headquarters and formations.
Complimenting all ranks of the force for their professional conduct and performance under challenging circumstances, Lt Gen Lakhera emphasised on the importance of maintaining security and sanctity of the Indo-Myanmar border, stating that the Assam Rifles should be prepared for all contingencies and security challenges arising in the future.
The Conference featured discussions on enhancing the capability and combat potential of the AR, preparing road map on acquisition of new generation weapon systems and military equipment, sharing of best practices amongst formations/ units and lessons learned to enhance overall efficiency of the force with emphasis on training and skill development of soldiers.
The DGAR also commended the formation and unit commanders for ensuring peace and tranquillity in their respective areas of responsibility, exhorting them to be ever vigilant on the volatile and dynamic environment under which the force operates.
The Conference provided a platform for the commanders to deliberate on critical issues related to combat potential, operational readiness, administrative issues and human resource management issues.
It concluded with a renewed commitment from all attendees to uphold the highest standards of operational excellence and to continuously strive for excellence in all spheres.
