Govt urged to help Anal villagers in distress

Anallon Chiefs' Association (ALCA), Chandel has stated that during its tour of Anal villages in border areas as well as far-flung areas of Chandel district to check prevalence of poppy cultivation and condition of these villages, the Association encountered many villagers who are poorest of poor and several people suffering from serious diseases and disabilities.
In a release, ALCA president KL John Motah stated that the Association's executive members met many villagers who are suffering from diseases such as BP stroke, cancer, etc., and are bedridden, while many have disabilities such as blindness, hearing and voice impairment.
They also came across many people who are poor including widows.
Most of them are economically weak and could not get any treatment for their maladies as there was no one to help them.
They do not possess any health cards issued by the government for the benefits of economically weaker section of the society such as AB-PMJAY and CMHT as there is nobody to seek it out for them.
Hence, the government must help them as much as it can, it appealed.
ACLA further conveyed that the Association provided one bag of rice each to these downtrodden villagers including widower and cancer patient NL Shangkham of Khambathel village; orphan and disabled HB Ngamhring of Riverlane village; LH Khimung of Thungcheng village who is bedridden following BP stroke along with widower and bedridden LK Joynahring of Tampi village; visually impaired SP Khelthung of Chakpikarong village and both visually and hearing impaired KL Dalsohman of Duthang village.
