BJP seeks NSCN (IM) support for ADC polls

Former Minister and BJP Manipur Pradesh State Executive Member Samuel Jendai Kamei on Monday appealed the NSCN (IM) to support the BJP in the forthcoming ADC elections.
He said that the BJP and NSCN (IM) have "a good relation" since the advent of the "Indo-Naga" peace talks and the progress of the same during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee regime.
Samuel Jendai Kamei was speaking as the Chief Guest during the observation of BJP's 35th foundation day of at Shekinud Inn, Tamenglong District Headquarters.
Exuding confidence, he said BJP will defeat the Congress in the ensuing ADC election.
The former minister also accused the Congress led State Government of refusing to devolve powers to the ADCs.
He claimed that the BJP's poll plank this time round will be the demand for 6th Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
On the occasion, BJP strongly condemned the State Electricity Department for its erratic power supply in the last few weeks besides expressing dismay with BSNL for its poor performance in Tamenglong District.
