Speaking to media persons after she was produced before the court, Sharmila said that though she was blessed when she visited the historic Khwairamband Market after the District & Session Court, Manipur East released her on August 20, she also felt hurt for not taking forward a mass movement for repeal of AFSPA after she was re-arrested again.
Maintaining that mass public movement is needed to repeal AFSPA under which innocent civilians are being killed and many women made widows, Sharmila condemned the way she was re-arrested again.
