Sadu Chiru VA condemns arson at Waterfall Park

Kangpokpi, July 05 2019: Public of Sadu Chiru and Village Authority strongly condemned the burning down of about 11 shops by some unknown miscreants at Sadu Chiru Waterfall Park in Bungte Chiru Block under Kangpokpi district early in the morning today, said a press release issued by chief of Sadu Chiru VA.

It said the fire has destroyed valuables worth Rs 5 lakh maximum of them are eatable items stored by the shop owners to serve the visitors who often visited the park to enjoy the environment while adding that the food vendors depend their livelihood on the income gain from selling the eatable items and also help to meet the expenses of their children's education.

The statement termed the act of arson as barbaric and was done by uncivilized and uncultured individuals.

As such, the VA and public urged the relevant department, concerned authority and CSOs to nab the persons involved in the arson and be given befitting punishment at the earliest to stop such act from repeating in future while appealing the Govt to extend monetary assistance to the victims food vendors to compensate their losses.
