Bamboo orange grading & packaging unit inaugurated

Tamenglong, December 04 2015 : A unit of Orange Grading & Packaging supported by NABARD was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tamenglong M Luikham at Chiuluan village in the presence of Rajkumar Y Meitei, AGM NABARD Manipur Regional Office, Imphal; Abdul Hakim, DO (H & SC) and Thokchom Kiran Singh DDM NABARD Tamenglong.

The project inaugurated today has been funded by NABARD and implemented by People Action for Social Transformation (PAST), Tamenglong.

Inaugurating the unit, DC M Luikham expressed his satisfaction on the performance of Chiuluan Farmers Club and stressed on the importance of community based farming.

He congratulated the farmer of Chiuluan village and expressed the need for intensive participation in such work.

Rajkumar Y Meitei in his address stressed on the importance of such projects and the need for expansion on a commercial mode through banking channels.

He also emphasised the concept of NABARD's Farmers Club and how it plays a role in bridging trust between farmers and Banks.

Abdul Hakim, DO (H & SC), Tamenglong have appreciated NABARD initiatives and expressed his support for the farmers of Chiuluan Village.
