Ningol Chakkouba celebrated across state

Ningol Chakkouba, the grandest festival in the state, was celebrated across the state on Sunday, with various stakeholders hosting feasts for women.
In Jiribam, the district administration organised a Ningol Chakkouba festival at Bidyanagar Sports Complex Indoor Stadium, inviting displaced women from relief camps to a grand feast.
During the event, each internally displaced person (IDP) received a one-time assistance of Rs 1000.Those present included ADC Th Manoranjan, Borobekra SDC Moirangthem Devananda, JMC executive officer M Surjit, and officials from various departments.
Additionally, the festival was celebrated at the Borobekra police station relief camp under the guidance of DC Krishna Kumar.
During the event, 96 IDPs were also handed over an amount of Rs 1000 each.
Attendees included Borobekra police station 2nd OC Md Salauddin and Jakuradhor GP GRS Moyna Das.
Another celebration for IDPs in relief camps within Jiribam sub-division will be held on Tuesday, under the aegis of DC Krishna Kumar.
On Monday, Moirang MLA Thongam Shanti distributed gifts to widows under 60 years of age during celebration of Ningol Chakkouba held at the MLA's Moirang Philem Leikai office premises with the MLA, NPP Moirang Political Affairs Committee chairman S Kumar Singh and MLA's chief advisor Y Modhu Singh as the chief guest , president and guest of honour respectively.
Meanwhile, to promote peace and unity among the various communities in the state, Ningol Chakkouba festival was jointly organised by Bishnupur Akoiba Apunba Lup and five village voluntary organisations at Bishnupur Thiyam Leikai community hall.
The event was attended by COCOMI president Somendro and Bishnupur Akoiba Apunba Lup president L Devchand.
Jiribam Development Organisation (JDO) also organised Ningol Chakkouba for the IDPs staying in relief camps in Jiribam at Lamlen Leikai community hall, Babupara on Monday.
The function was attended by JDO advisor and Jiri College assistant professor Dr Th Somorendra, CADA Jiribam president Yumnam Sumati Devi, Jiri Ima Meira paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL) president Longjam Bimola Devi, JDO advisors Nongmaithem Sadananda Meitei, Jiri College assistant professors Dr S Arunkumar Mangang, and Dr Th Somorendro Singh, and JDO president Elangbam Dewan Singh as presidium members.
Arambai Tenggol Unit 26 also organised Ningol Chakkouba feast for displaced women residing in relief camps in Kakching district at Kakching Naodam Bazar community hall on Sunday.
Ningol Chakkouba festival was also organised for displaced women taking shelter at Khomdonbi Memorial English School, Kakching Khunou, by the committee managing the relief camp.
The programme was attended by Development Committee president Kh Babu, School Relief Committee convenor M Ratan and other committee members.
Keirak Wabagai Zilla Parishad and Kei-rak Gram Panchayat also hosted Ningol Chakkouba festival feast for displaced women at the relief camp opened at Sanatombi High School in the presence of Keirak Wabagai Zilla Parishad Administrative Committee member Salam Dhanabir Luwang, Keirak Gram Panchayat pradhan Elangbam Shanti Leima, and other members.
Arambai Tenggol Unit 8 also organised Ningol Chakkouba festival for displaced women at relief camps located at Hi-yanglam Girls High School, Wabagai Yangbi High School, and Sanatombi High School in Keirak, at the Hiyanglam Makha Leikai SWC community hall.
