Imphal, October 04 2015:
Though Manipur is a small state, it is known by the world by its rich art and culture.
So each and every artist should try to promote the state's art and culture by sidelining their grievances, said MLA T Mangibabu during the 8th foundation day celebration of Dr Nimita Devi Nitya Ashram on Sunday at the Jawaharlal Nehru Dance Academy auditorium.
Attending the function as chief guest, chairman of the Planning and Development Authority, T Mangibabu said that Manipur's sports and art and culture play a big role in popularizing the state to the world.
Government has been providing huge fund to activities of sports while the amount for developing and promoting art and culture is very small, said the MLA while adding that artists should make every effort to develop the state's art and culture by sidelining their problems.
Manipur's art forms are different from other states which face a lot of difficulties when they try to learn it, said Mangibabu.
Only few lovers of art and culture have special attention towards Sankritan though many could be learnt from these art forms for building human characters.
Today's generation should not forget those art lovers for presenting these art forms only to the people of the State, stated Mangibabu.
The function was attended by Art and Culture Secretary K Radhakumar as president while Padmashri S Thanil and Director of Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy, N Upendro as the guests of honour.
