Govindas meets HM Amit Shah

After joining the BJP recently, former Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president and ex-MLA Govindas Konthoujam called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah and talked about various political issues.
Govindas met Amit Shah along with BJP Manipur in-charge and national spokes-person Sambit Patra in New Delhi around 5.30 pm on Wednesday.
Speaking in this regard to The People's Chronicle via telephone, Govindas in formed that the union home minister enquired about the status and prowess of MPCC in the state.
In response, he (Govindas) conveyed about his experiences.
Amit Shah then advised on the key roles to be played by BJP for strengthening the party so as to achieve absolute majority in the upcoming assembly polls.
He (Amit) then congratulated Govindas on joining BJP.
Mention may be made here that the former MLA of Ningthoukhong AC, who has also held various ministerial posts, joined BJP on August 1 in the presence of BJP Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra, CM N Biren, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda, Lok Sabha MP RK Ranjan and Rajya Sabha MP Sanajaoba Leishemba.
