Imphal, September 01 2014:
In the wake of controversies over the identity of Manipur Pradesh Trinamul Congress, Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) has urged MLA Th.Shyamkumar to resign as he is trying to bury the truth regarding the history of MPTC.
At a press meet held at Manipur Press Club here yesterday , President of Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) Mutum Rajendro said that cases pertaining to anti-defection under 10th schedule of the Constitution have cropped up in Manipur during the last few months.
Applications demanding disqualification of legislators and show cause notices to MLAs have been witnessed, he added.
Charging MLA Th.Shyamkumar of indulging in blame game, Rajendro stated that Shyamkumar had wrongly propagated Manipur Pradesh Trinamul Congress as a new party formed by MLAs Kh.
Joykishan, O.Lukhoi, Th.Biswajit, K.Sarat and late M.Kunjo.
Saying that MPTC is a unit of All India Trinamul Congress (AITC) which was set up in April 2010, Rajendro explained that all MLAs including Shyamkumar contested election after getting admission into the party.
He categorically cited that membership number of MLA Shyamkumar is 664, while that of Joykishan is 993. MLAs K.Sarat, late M.Kunjo, Dr.Ibohalbi, O.Lukhoi and Th.Biswajit have membership numbers as 032, 390, 911, 640 and 600 respectively in the MPTC, stated Rajendro while asserting that all of them contested elections with the approval of its president Kim Gangte.
If Shyamkumar continues to bury the truth regarding the history of MPTC, he is better to resign.
Rajendro demanded.
