Imphal, October 31 2019: Directorate of University and Higher Education has informed all eligible students who are pursuing Post-Matric Higher Professional Courses/Streams that they may apply for fresh and renewal NEC Merit Scholarship for the session 2019-20 online with effect from November 1 to December 16 on the website www.highereducationmanipur.gov.in.

The rate of scholarship per annum are Rs 20,000 for diploma level, Rs 22,000 for degree level, Rs 25,000 for Post Graduate level and Rs 30,000 for PhD/M Phil.

Eligibility criteria for fresher
Students of Technical and Professional courses who have got admission in Diploma, Degree, Post-graduate or PhD/MPhil.

Qualifying mark for General/OBC is 60pc or above and 55pc for SC/ST/PH in aggregate in their respective qualifying exams.

Parents'/Guardians' income from all sources should not exceed Rs 4,50,000 only for the year ending March 31, 2019.A student studying in any year of the Diploma, Degree, Post-graduate or PhD/MPhil.

Eligibility criteria for renewals
Students who were selected for the scholarship in the first year and promoted to the next higher class without any break.

Failure to furnish correct and complete information required in the format may lead to automatic cancellation of the scholarship.

Selected candidates will not be allowed to enjoy double scholarship/stipend.
