Imphal, October 31 2012:
Persons from outside posing as village house holders of Chadong village have participated in the verification process, alleged village leaders even as CrPC 144 was clamped in the village amidst tight security in the face of the verification carried out by the district administration starting from today when a team of the press visited the village today.
In this connection the Village Authority representative and Secretary MH Kahaoshang has submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner of Ukhrul voicing stringent opposition to the verification processes as being enforced in the village despite their protest made through Mapithel Dam Affected Villages Organisation (MDAVO), saying that genuine villagers could not be ascertained as the village authorities were barred from participating in the process.

The Chadong Shanao Long also condemned the present verification process.
The verification has been ordered by the DC to be carried till November 2, along with the Mapithel Dam Multipurpose Displaced Villages Committee (MTDMPDVC) on one side and the Mapithel Dam Affected Villages Organisation (MDAVO) on the opposition.
The reason for MDAVO contention being that Expert Review Committee (ERC) consisting of experts drawn from various fields and concerned persons were earlier formed with the consent of the Governor and termed the recent move by the DC as over-riding his role.
