KIM opposes extension of MLR & LR Act in hill areas

Kuki Inpi Manipur on Monday has declared to oppose any Acts or Laws in the state which affect the interest of tribals in general and Kukis in particular.
A press statement signed by Information and Publicity Secretary KIM, Doukhomang Touthang said that the Kuki Nampi Kihoukhomna (meeting) was held at Haipi from August 26-29 under the aegis of Kuki Inpi Manipur.
According to the "Haipi Declaration" (No-6), any attempt by the Government of Manipur to enact new laws or pass new acts which shall directly or indirectly affect the interest of the tribals in general and the Kukis in particular and extension of Manipur Land Revenue & Land Reforms Act, 1960 and similar Acts and amendment in the hill areas shall be opposed with 'tooth and nail', said the statement.
