Strengthening control of finance section vital: Dr I Ibohalbi

Imphal, June 30 2015 : Trinamool MLA Dr I Ibohalbi told the State Assembly on Tuesday the finance division is one of the most important parts of a Government and suggested the Government for appointing individuals who studied economics as finance officers.

During the discussion on the demand for finance, Dr Ibohalbi added that the finance section is the vital backbone of the Government and hence strengthening its control is of the essence.

Raising a cut motion on the demand, the Oinam constituency MLA noted that the Government was in the habit of maintaining pre-budget economic review report in the past, but now it has stopped.

He said such reports are very important while ensuring correct data and called on all concerned officials to uphold clean and clear data collection work.

Keishamthong MLA L Ibomcha raised his concern in the House saying the State Government is not financially sound and so there should be a cut in official tour programmes, especially outside the State.

The lone NCP MLA said his suggestion aims to ease the load of financial constraints facing the Manipur Government.

LJP MLA of Langthabal constituency, K Shyam said that he was dissatisfied with the failure of implementation of the Manipur Library Act in a satisfactory level in the State.
