DGP briefs Governor on security situation

Imphal, February 29 2024:
Director General of Police Rajiv Singh called on Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Thursday evening and apprised her of the prevailing security situation in the state.
The DGP submitted a detailed report on the recent incidents and briefed the Governor about his visit to Churachandpur district post-February 15 incidents.
Cases of extortion from the public and transporter associations were also discussed with the Governor asking the DGP to take stringent action against those involved in the act and to maintain free and safe passage of vehicles on the Highways.
DGP Rajiv assured the Governor that Manipur police have been working dedicatedly for the safety and security of people of Manipur.
Taking serious note of the recent incidents, Governor said, it is high time that people realise there are few self-styled organisations both in hill and valley districts which are misleading the local populace by creating false propaganda from time to time and urged the people to understand the pivotal role played by Manipur Police in safeguarding the lives and properties of the people.
She then appealed to the people to co-operate with the police in maintaining law and order in the state.
