During the previous Government, the Central Government used to sanction Rs 300 crore in a year but under the incumbent Government led by N Biren, the annual fund allotment has been raised to Rs 600 core, Biswajit said.
For PMGSY Phase XI, the Ministry of Rural Development has sanctioned Rs 2661 crore for the State.
This amount is for 458 projects/works.
While 372 works are construction of roads, 86 projects are construction of bridges, Biswajit elaborated.
Tender process for most of these works have been completed but re-tender would be held for some projects as no contractor/work agency came forward for the particular projects, he continued.
During the previous Government, the longest length of roads constructed in a year was 545 Kms but the incumbent Government has achieved the feat of constructing roads of total length 731 Kms in a year, he claimed.
