Kabidon Gonmei, chairman of the Ningsai Village Authority in Nungba sub-division has stated that two persons have been killed while several others have been affected by outbreak of malaria and dysentery in Nungsai Leimatak area in Tamenglong district recently.
In a statement, the chairman said that other areas including Nungleiband, Dolang, Shangji and Lhangal village under Nungba sub division have also been affected by the spread of the diseases.
The diseases have claimed the lives of two villagers identified as Majasinpou, S/o late Thujanglung of Nungleiband and Khamchuilu, daughter of Phangchun of Thangal village.
The chairman has made a fervent appeal to the authority concerned to look into the matter and redress the grievances being faced by the villagers.
JAC hails blockade supporters: The Nungba-Tamenglong People Grievances Joint Action Committee has thanked the general public, transport bodies, vehicle owners' associations etc for extending co-operation to the 48 hours NH 53 blockade called by the JAC along with the Joint Political Party Forum Tamenglong on November 5 and 6.In a statement, the JAC said that the bandh was called demanding an impartial probe into the alleged siphoning of huge public money by two NGOs, public leaders and some officers.
It alleged that ex-MLA Prof Gangmumei Kamei had sent hired men who kidnapped four innocent boys to disrupt the bandh.
The JAC urged the Governor to transfer the DC Tamenglong and the Nungba SDO in charge.
