Notwithstanding the withdrawal of a number of employees associations from the cease work strike, the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO today decided to go ahead with its cease work strike until their demands are met.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the General Council of the JAC held at Hatta Kangjeibung today.
Future course of action to be taken has been entrusted to the Executive Council and Central Council of the JAC.
The cease work strike launched by the JAC has completed 48 days today and the relay hunger strike completed 6 days today.
Meanwhile with the Manipur Secretariat Services Association and a number of other associations withdrawing from the cease work strike, the State Government has taken up efforts to release the pending salaries of the employees, said an official source today.
Advisor K Kipgen said salaries for the months of September, October and November would be released as soon as the budget is passed.
The budget is likely to be tabled in Parliament tomorrow or at the latest this week.
Kipgen said the timing of releasing the salary will depend on how fast or slow Lok Sabha passes the budget.
