Upendra probe to conduct spot visit

Imphal, December 11: The Upendra Commission will conduct a spot study at Maharani Traffic Point at 8 am of December 15 in connection with the July 20 incident in which one person died and several others were injured.

The decision of the Commission followed suggestions from counsels to get a clear picture about the circumstances in which the deceased Rajkumar received the bullet injury and the distance between the victim and the gun wielder among other things.

The Commission asked the counsels concerned to make the witnesses who saw Rajkumar injured to appear before the probe.

It asked the IO of the case to be present on the day of the visit.

Meanwhile, the counsel in favour of the State police gave his final arguments before the Commission today.

His arguments were mainly based on the statements and written affidavits of various witnesses and parties in addition to the post mortem report of the deceased.
