Imphal, December 30 2021:
Former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has categorically stated that the people will witness big changes in the political landscape of Manipur after the 2022 State Assembly election.
O Ibobi, who is the CLP leader said that a Congress exclusive or a coalition Government led by the grand old party will be installed in Manipur after the ensuing election.
Addressing a political conference organised by Patsoi Block Congress Committee at Takyel Kolom Leikai, the former Chief Minister continued that the people no longer have faith in the BJP led Government at both the Centre and the State.
Claiming that BJP is a self seeking party whose love for publicity knows no bounds, Ibobi added that BJP is also infamous for undermining democracy on numerous occasions.
"Why is the BJP arresting people for pointing out the flaws in their administration," Ibobi asked and exuded confidence that the people will surely teach BJP a lesson for their high handedness in the Assembly election.
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president MLA N Loken asked why so many candidates are vying for BJP tickets when the party will field only one candidate at each Constituency.
Maintaining that some wealthy businessmen contest elections to establish bigger business platforms, N Loken reminded that the people have the power to eliminate the BJP Government from the State and save democracy.
He urged the people to cast their votes after thorough consideration.
CWC member Gaikhangam also appealed to the people not to fall for the trickery of the wealthy candidates who plan to do even bigger business by joining electoral politics.
Continuing that the ensuing Assembly election is critical to save Manipur, he urged the people to vote wisely.
Congress is the only party that can save Manipur, Gaikhangam said and appealed to the people of Patsoi AC to support AK Mirabai in the election.
Original NFSA cards will shortly be distributed to 84.59 percent beneficiaries of Patsoi, he added.
