The Government of India has been proposing to its Myanmar counterpart for a joint inspection of border disputes and settle the same amicably in bilateral meetings, claimed Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Gautam Mukhopadhyay.
Speaking to media persons after his meeting with Chief Minister O Ibobi this morning, Gautam stated that the Government of Myanmar also put across their own viewpoints and arguments.
At the same time, Myanmar and India share a peaceful and cordial relationship.

Informing that the Chief Minister's proposal would be put forward to the Government of Myanmar, Gautam Mukhopadhyay conveyed that Ibobi also talked about strengthening economic and cultural ties between the two countries.
Education and Health are two sectors for which Myanmar needs foreign assistance, the Ambassador claimed that Manipur stands to benefit a lot from the India's Look East Policy and opening of the Asian Highway.
"Like Manipur, I would visit other Northeastern States and see what can be done at these States in order to reap maximum benefit from the Look East Policy," Gautam Mukhopadhyay said.
Later in the afternoon, the Ambassador held another meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam.
He would visit Moreh by road on August 1 and proceed to Mandalay after inspecting the ICP being constructed at the border town.
