CM back, DONER official in town

Soon after arrival from New Delhi this evening, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh along with the Minister concerned and officials discussed the ongoing clearance of Phumdis (floating biomass) from Loktak Lake.
Even though the hurriedly convened meeting at the CM's office chamber was attended by the Forest and Environment Minister Th Debendra and officials of Loktak Development Authority with the ongoing Phumdi clearance project high on the agenda what transpired at the said meeting could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report.
LDA officials were not available for comment.
Meanwhile, O Ibobi, who was in Australia to attend a meeting of North East Power ministers, returned here from New Delhi.

On the otherhand, Ministry of DONER's Secretary LS Lamba arrived here today on a three-day State visit.
The DONER Secretary, who reviewed status of various projects being implemented in the State under the financial assistance of Non Lapsable Central Pool of Resources (NLCPR) and the DONER Ministry soon after arrival, will be visiting Loktak lake tomorrow.
According to an informed source, LS Lamba conducted spot inspection of the National Sports Academy in Khuman Lampak sports Complex, Lamlong bridge, Sawombung-Sagolmang road, JNIMS Hospital and Kongba power sub-station today.
Apart from an inspection visit to Loktak Lake tomorrow, the Secretary is scheduled to have a meeting with State Government officials later in the evening to review projects being taken up in the State under the NLCPR funding.
Lamba will also attend the closing ceremony of the Manipur Sangai Festival at Hapta Kangjeibung tomorrow.
