Imphal, December 28 2016:
Ex-MLA Dr Kh Loken has said that all the people of Manipur need to put up a collective fight against Congress party if the integrity of Manipur should be safeguarded.
He was speaking at the felicitation function of Sagolband Kendra Ward No 8 Councillor Wahengbam Mobimacha who has joined BJP.
The felicitation function held at the ex-MLA's Takhellambam Leikai residence was organised by BJP Sagolband Mandal.
Speaking at the gathering, Kh Loken said that hurling allegations and counter allegations among political parties at such critical juncture would not bring anything positive to the State.
If Manipur should be protected, BJP strengthened, and if there must be a change in Manipur and if Sagolband AC should join the revolution, all the people need to join hands and fight the Congress party collectively, Loken asserted.
All the communities living in Manipur have been reeling under extreme misery.
Saving Manipur is far more important than any election.
As such, political parties should not waste precious time playing blame game.
Talking about the UNC's economic blockade, Dr Loken said Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju clarified during his visit to Imphal that the Central Government never asked the State Government to release the two arrested UNC leaders.
Kiren Rijiju came to the State to get the economic blockade lifted and ensure resumption of supplies to the people of the State.
After the Central Government sent additional Central paramilitary forces to the State, loaded trucks stranded at Jiribam have started moving toward Imphal with security escorts, he added.
