Cabinet okays AG post to Th Ibohal

AFTER A gap of more than one year, the State Cabinet has finally decided to fill the vacancy of Advocate General of Manipur with appointment of senior advocate Th Ibohal to the post.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the state Cabinet today afternoon.
The meeting brought up the names of four prominent senior advocates of the state for consideration.
They are Lalit Kumar, Th Ibohal, Kh Nobin and Rabi Mangsatabam.
After a thorough discussion, the Cabinet finally gave its approval to appointment of Kh Ibohal as the AG of the state.
The cabinet also decided to appoint women weightlifters Ng Soniya and L Monica to different posts in Manipur Police Department.
Ng Soniya of Haoreibi, who is presently employed as an Inspector in Uttar Pradesh Police Department is to be given the post of a DSP while L Monica, who hails from Nachou, Bishnupur and presently serving as a Head Constable of CRPF in Delhi would be given the post of a Sub-Inspector.
Furthermore, the meeting of the State Cabinet resolved to offer a post to Ch Budhachandra, the younger brother of Ch Iboyaima, who was killed by a bullet accidentally fired by one police personnel in the City Police station, in the Electricity Department.
Apart from this, the today's Cabinet meeting has also given approval to appoint 34 field staffs and two computer experts in the Economics and Statistics Department on contract basis.
The retirement period of L Sajou and H Irabot, who are employed in the Electricity Department, has also been extended respectively.
The rate of taxes on water supplied from Thoubal Multipurpose project by the PHED to the government offices and private individuals has also been decided to be increased.
