Imphal, June 28 2016: Sit-in-protests were staged today at different places in solidarity to the popular demand for enforcement of ILPS or a similar mechanism in the State.

Under the aegis of JCILPS, womenfolk staged protest demonstrations at Haobam Marak Lourembam Leikai, Haobam Marak Chingtham Leikai, Konjeng Leikai Club Keithel, Konjeng Langpoklakpam Leikai, Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai, Kwakeithel Konjeng Awang Leikai and Kwakeithel Lamdong Leikai.

Placards which read as "Enforce ILPS in Manipur", "Pass a new Bill in place of PMP Bill", "Convert the two remaining Bills into Acts", "We condemn declaration of Kh Ratan as a wanted man" were put up at the protest sites.

A similar protest demonstration was staged today at Lainingthou Puthiba community hall, Yumnam Khunou under the aegis of the Women Welfare Association, Yumnam Khunou Makha Leikai and the Women Empowerment Association, Yumnam Khunou.

They put up banners and placards which read as "Declaration of Kh Ratan as a wanted on fabricated charges cannot suppress the popular movement", "Revoke the Government order which declared Kh Ratan as a wanted man" etc.

Meira Paibis of Wangkhei Khunou, Sinam and Ishikha also took part in the protest demonstration.
