CCpur, October 27 2015:
The otherwise typical carnival event, Chavang Kut, set to be celebrated at Tuibuong Peace Ground will dedicate an entire day to pay tributes to 'the 9 Martyrs' while the other events planned for three consecutive days beginning October 30 will focus on cultural interaction and integration, taking due note of the fact that the 'Martyrs' are still awaiting their last rites, the event organisers said today.
'The Chavang Kut Committee, 2015 salutes the 9 Martyrs for the highest sacrifice they made for us and our land,' declared the events' schedule handbook even as the organisers claimed that it is with respect to these 'Martyrs' of the land that the event will be represented by forty-three groups which are united by the descendants of Manasseh.
The committee, despite several appeals to forego the Kut celebration this year, has appealed for peace and co-operation from all concerned as it decided to go ahead with the theme 'celebration of brotherhood' .
The first of the three-day will be a day to honour the 9 Martyrs by delegates at the district hospital mortuary where they are still kept even after two months of their killing while protesting the three bills passed by the State Assembly.
