Imphal, August 27 2010:
The proscribed RPF has stated that the real danger of Manipuri people is not from any Indian, but from Government of Manipur, Government of India and their agents who are hellbent on creating enmity and misunderstanding among the people.
In a statement, publicity secretary of the outfit T Leisemba said that RPF has no enmity with any Indian and just as they respect the Independence of Manipur, RPF also respect them and regard them as friend.
So, whether Manipuris would be allowed in any part of India depends entirely on the policy of India Government.
Reacting to the Chief Minister's remarks on reimposition of AFSPA in Imphal area, Leishemba pointed out that Rabina and Sanjib have been shot dead by State forces in Khwairamband Market area where AFSPA is supposed to have been withdrawn.
To control public anger over the barbaric act of killing Thangjam Manorama after being violated her chastity by the Assam Rifles and the subsequent nude protest staged by womenfolk at Kangla Gate, Assam Rifles have been withdrawn from Kangla and AFSPA is proclaimed to have been removed from some parts of Imphal.
But the excesses and atrocities of the security forces still continues and it has made no difference to the people of Manipur whether AFSPA has been withdrawn or still imposed.
So, the Chief Minister is trying to threaten the people by mentioning AFSPA like mentioning Tapta to children apart from unnecessarily dragging in the issue of Manipuri living in other parts.
Observing that as a leader of Manipur, the Chief Minister should keep the interest and welfare of the Manipuri people in the forefront, Leishemba questioned whether Chief Minister Ibobi has been doing this or not.
If the Chief Minister is asking where the Ima-Ibel have gone over the death of a non-Manipuri, what is his stand over the Oinam incident, mass rape at Patsoi, Heirangoithong killing, Malom incident that has led to Irom Chanu Sharmila to go on a fast unto death agitation and other numerous instances of human rights violation ?, Leishemba questioned.
Asking further what Chief Minister Ibobi thinks of the loss and suffering being endured by the family members of the person whose body was brought back after Indian Army had forcefully taken him away, Leishemba wondered whether the Chief Minister is trying to seal the lips within some monetary compensation.
Chief Minister O Ibobi can cry over the death of a non-Manipuri and harp on reimposition of AFSPA in Imphal area but can remains blind to the suffering of his own brothers and rape of his sisters by the security forces and other instances of human rights violation.
Stating that CPI (Maoist) has close relation with RPF and the two groups discussed and have understanding over the issue of non-Manipuri in Manipur, Leishemba alleged that Indian agents have been trying to break this tie and create enmity among the Manipuris and Indian people through false propaganda under the guise of CPI (Maoist).
