NPF apprises Prez about Naga issue

Former Minister and ex-Lok Sabha candidate Soso Lorho has apprised President of India Pranab Mukherjee to help resolve the Naga political issue at the earliest.
Soso Lorho called on the President of India on July 24 evening and apprised the issue to which the latter had reportedly assured to extend all possible help in resolving the Naga political issue as soon as possible.
Soso Lorho had contested the 16th Lok Sabha election from Manipur Outer Parliamentary constituency in Naga Peoples' Front (NPF) ticket.
He lost by a narrow margin to Congress candidate Thangso Baite.
Soso Lorho said he met Pranab Mukherjee whom he regarded as his 'old friend' in New Delhi and discussed issues which lasted for about an hour.
Soso Lorho also regarded Pranab Mukherjee as a philosoher and a great guide.

According to Soso Lorho, he apprised the President of India on the prevailing Naga political situation arising out of the long drawn Naga peace process with the Government of India and urged him to help solved the 'imbroglio' .
Meanwhile, NPF, Manipur State general secretary Athuan Abonmai said the former minister who is also an NPF leader emphatically stressed on the desire and yearning of the Naga people for an early honourable and peaceful solution acceptable to both the parties.
Soso Lorho also dwelt on the urgency to find ways and explore means towards this end so that the solution will see the light of the day during their time and the legacy they leave behind shall be cherished by posterity, Athuan Abonmai added.
The President of India on his side equally shared his concern on the issue and assured Mr.Lorho that he will take the matter up with the concerned authorities and offered his support to help solved the problem as early as possible, Athuan Abonmai claimed.
