Imphal, July 25 2014 :
Police have recovered three dead bodies from two loca-tions early today with the bodies bearing similar torture marks and shattered heads even as the police said they were suspected to be KNLA cadres, reports our Lamka correspondent.
A source in the district police said they have collected the dead body of one Seikholun Haokip, 28 son of Thonglet Haokip of Tolphei village around 6.30 am near Silemat village, about 2 kms from the police station, after receiving reports about sighting of a dead body early today.
About an hour later, police again received reports that two more dead bodies were found between Saikul and Thingchom village, along the Khuga Canal about 8 kms from here.
The duo had been identified as Paothansang Vaiphei, 23 s/o Khamlianpao Vaiphei of Zenhang Lamka and Paolal-muon, 45 son of Khama of Moreh
ward No.9 .
Police said all three were suspected to be KNLA cadres.
They all bore several injury marks and fractured skull but no bullet injury.
A man who identified one of the deceased said he had learnt about his distant relative joining an armed outfit some three years back but was not aware he was in Chura-0chandpur and that he had joined the KNLA from another outfit.
A relative of another victim said the deceased has no proper address as he usually checked in at the home of one relative and then another, usually for a short duration.
The recent spate of monetary demands on business establishments in the district and the subsequent arson on a petrol pump and the shooting of a brick field caretaker have all been blamed on the group and it is not known if the three were killed because of it.
