Grenade attack at Khongman Okram Chuthek residence

Imphal, June 25 2012: Unidentified persons attacked special contractor Okram Megha (54) by lobbing a hand grenade at his Khongman Okram Chuthek residence under Irilbung police station in Imphal East district at about 10.55 pm yesterday.

According to information culled from the spot, the grenade exploded at the courtyard of Megha when he was just 50 metres away from home.

He was then returning home in his car.

The blast caused damages to a Gypsy, Maruti van and one Enfield motorcycle which were kept nearby.

Though some window panes of the house were also shattered, there was no human casualty.

It was the second time grenade attack launched at Megha's house.

On the other hand, another hand grenade hurled by some unidentified persons exploded near ABC godown, Khoyathong at around 10.15 pm yesterday.

There is no report of any casualty.
