Imphal, March 25 2015: The Manipur High Court has issued notices to the respondents in connection with a PIL filed for theses replication in Hindi Department of Manipur University.

The PIL was filed by Khaidem Jacko Meitei and represented by Advocate Huidrom Kenajit.

The division bench led by the Chief Justice issued the notice to the respondents which are returnable within four weeks.

The listed respondents are Union of India, represented by the Secretary, Ministry of Human Resource Development, University Grants Commission represented by the Chairman, Manipur University represented by the Registrar and Dr Hajarimayum Subhadani Devi, HoD of Hindi Department, MU.

Among others the PIL sought that the authorities be directed to constitute an independent inquiry committee to look into alleged irregularities of all the PhD theses conducted by the research scholars under the supervision of Dr H Subhadani Devi.
