Imphal, March 24 2017:
Imphal Moreh Tata DI-207 Owner and Driver Welfare Association has started repairing a part of the Imphal-Moreh road, which despite being one of the main lifelines of the State, has been neglected by the Government.
Despite the risk and hazards, the vehicles traversing the road are taking a huge risk everyday as it is still one of the main lifelines of the State and an important trade route.
Despite the pathetic condition of the road, the then Congress Government did not take any measures to repair the potholes, broken culverts etc but still built a flying bridge during the landslide at Tengnoupal.
Imphal Moreh Tata DI-207 Owner and Driver Welfare Association started repairing a part of the road from Tengnoupal to Lokchao using JCB and heavy machinery.
According to the chief advisor of the association, Ahanthem Dhakeshor, the association took up the task of repairing the road owing to the neglect by the previous Government regarding the condition of the important route.
The association firmly believes that the present BJP Government led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh will take up the responsibility of proper construction and development of the Imphal Moreh road at the earliest, he added.
