Governor directs DMU to probe recruitment process

Governor Anusuiya Uikey has directed Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) authority to constitute an enquiry committee and investigate the recruitment process of teaching staff.
Expressing strong suspicion of irregularities in the results of the recruitment for teaching and non-teaching staff, as many as six student bodies including MSF, DESAM, KSA, SUK and AIMS have been demanding a thorough investigation by an enquiry committee.
The Governor today convened a meeting with DMU Vice Chancellor H Gyan Prakash and Registrar Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam this evening at Raj Bhavan and discussed the issue arising out of the non-declaration of results of recruitment of Assistant Professors of Botany and Physics.

Explaining about the recruitment process of the faculty members, VC Gyan Prakash said, the tabulation submitted by the examining authority were not filled up and only four candidates each for Botany and Physics were mentioned in the proceeding sheet.
11 and 13 Assistant Professors for Botany and Physics respectively have to be recruited but due to unavailability of the merit list, fresh interview of the candidates who were invited and came for the interview held earlier will be conducted shortly in respect of these two subjects, Gyan Prakash told Anusuiya Uikey, according to a press release issued by the Governor's Secretariat.
The Governor directed the university authority to constitute an enquiry committee and investigate the process of the said recruitment.
She also directed them to update her about the findings of the committee from time to time.
