Question hour in the Assembly Ratankr explains exigencies of urgent repair of NHs

Although National Highways are under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, parts of the highways where urgent repairs are needed are being repaired under the funding of the State Govt, Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar informed during the question hour of the ongoing State Assembly today.
Dr Ratankumar was replying to a question raised by MLA Kh Joykisan.
Since awaiting Ministry's sanctions for repair of parts of highways damaged due to landslide or developing cracks is not possible, the damaged portions are repaired with State funding, the Minister said.
He said that soil from paddy field has been used for expansion of Imphal-Moreh section of NH-39 out of necessity.
Proper specification will be made in this regard after sanction of fund for the same.
Responding to another question from the MLA, Education Minister M Okendro said that staff quarters for Heirok Higher Secondary School under RMSA will not be constructed due to non availability of land for the purpose.
A total of 74 staff quarters are said to be constructed under RMSA.
Out of these, construction of 44 staff quarters has been completed while 33 such quarters are under construction, the Minister said.
Responding to a question raised by MLA Th Shyamkumar, Labour Minister I Hemochandra said that the Govt is undertaking measures for the implementation of 25 different Labour Laws in the State.
