Blast near AR post leaves 1 injured

Imphal, November 22 2012:
A civilian sustained critical injuries when a powerful bomb exploded on Manipur College road, Singjamei Chingamathak just beneath the post of 28 Assam Rifles at about 6 pm today.
According to information culled from the spot, the bomb which exploded on the busy road left Naorem Ibomcha (31) s/o late Kunjo critically injured.
Ibomcha who works as a salesman at a fish stall has been admitted at RIMS in critical condition.
Meanwhile, a powerful bomb planted near Slopeland Public School, Khongjom along Imphal-Moreh highway was detected this afternoon.
The bomb wrapped in a polythene bag was discovered when some people dig up a mound alongside the highway.

The polythene bag contained two detonators, two Chinese made hand grenades, four RDX pieces weighing around one kilogram, one circuit board and six battery cells of 3 Volt.
The bomb was set off safely by explosive experts of Manipur Police at about 4.30 pm.
