As observed in different parts of the world, the World Thinking Day 2015 was also observed at Ch Thamboumacha High School, Lamboi Khongnangkhong today under the aegis of the Manipur State Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Manipur State Bharat Scouts and Guides Chief Commissioner Th Ibopishak and former vice-president of Manipur State Bharat Scouts and Guides Rev PH Francis attended the function as chief guest and president respectively.
Pena performance, dance and music by Scouts and Guides made the function more lively and colourful.
Floral tributes were also paid Lord Baden Powell, the founder of Boys Scout Movement.
Speaking on the occasion, Francis advocated the idea of universal brotherhood.
Man should learn to live together in harmony without any segregation on religious basis or otherwise.
Human beings need to give up all forms of self-centred approach.
Scouts and Guides have been taking tremendous roles towards development of human societies without any distinction among different faiths and even political boundaries, Rev Francis said.
The scout movement is more focused in guiding the youth on the right path with due emphasis on social responsibility and discipline so that there is peace and harmony across the world, he added.
On the other hand, a four-day scout training camp was opened today at Damini Memorial Academy, Changangei under the aegis of the Manipur Scouts Union, Singjamei.
The training camp is being organised to commemorate the 158th birth anniversary of Lord Baden Powell.
Former Education Director E Yaima and ICDS Deputy Director M Ranjana attended the opening function as chief guest and president respectively.
