Noney, April 20 2022: A thunderstorm that swept across different parts of Manipur last midnight coupled with NH-37 Imphal- Jiribam expansion project damaged at least six houses in Longmai Part-III, Noney.

Reportedly, the thunderstorm caused cracks in different portions of the six houses and the same has made the locals of Longmai restless as the unpredictable weather may cause further damage or even injury if it continues.

The owners of the damaged houses urged the Government and authorities concerned to look into the matter so that their safety can be guaranteed.

The locals of Longmai will ban the project if the demand is not heeded, they cautioned.

Reportedly, the water reservoir tank which has been supplying water to Noney Bazar areas has been upended by the thunderstorm and the site has been inspected by NHIDCL officials.
