Hill Leaders' Day, 'Meeyamgi Numit' organised

District administration of Ukhrul on Monday organised 'District Hill Leaders' Day' and 'Meeyamgi Numit' at DRDA Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, Ukhrul.
As per a release, the event was inaugurated by Ukhrul deputy commissioner Krishna Kumar in the presence of all district level officers (DLOs) of various line departments, media persons, village chiefs and general public.
Speaking on the occasion,
DC Krishna Kumar explained that the main objective of 'District Hill Leaders' Day' and 'Meeyamgi Numit' is to make the government citizen-centric, proactive and to bring about efficiency and transparency in the implementation of various welfare programmes of the government.
Every 3rd Friday of the month will be earmarked for 'District Hill Leaders Day' & 'Meeyamgi Numit' and in case the 3rd Friday happens to be a general or public holiday, then the next working day will be organised as 'District Hill Leaders' Day' & 'Meeyamgi Numit, he added, while informing that a dedicated 'Meeyamgi Numit Cell' has also been constituted to ensure better co-ordination amongst officials of various departments and speedy redressal of grievances of the public.
The release mentioned that around 35 written applications were received with grievances related to old age pension, health card and agriculture and veterinary related issues, and five e-Shram, 13 PMJAY and four CMHT cards were distributed
to the identified beneficiaries during the programme.
Further, around 25 people underwent preventive health check-up/screening under 'Chief Minister's Health for All' scheme.
