Route to Malom blocked in ILPS stir

Imphal, May 18 2016:
In connection with the JCILPS agitation demanding con-version of three Bills passed last year into Acts, Keishampat Junction � Malom stretch of Tiddim road was blocked today.
Movement of vehicles was blocked at different points like Keishampat Junction, Thiyam Leikai, Leimajam Leirak Machin, Top Leirak Machin, Hodam Leirak Machin, Sega Road, Kwakeithel, Sangaiprou and Malom.
However, no untoward incident has been reported.

Protesters also shouted slogans like 'Convert the passed Bills into Acts,' 'protect indigenous people,' 'Government should know the sentiments of the people,' 'Scrap outsiders from the voter lists,' etc.
The roadblock came to an end at 2 pm.
Over 400 students of Herbert School, Ghari also came out to the road and formed a human chain to demand that the three Bills be enacted soon.
