Three online municipal services launched

Imphal, January 18 2022:
Three online services, namely, 'Booking and Payment of Desludging Tanks'; 'Registration of Birth' and 'Registration of Death' were launched today at City Convention Centre, Imphal under 'E-Municipality as a Service' (E-MASS) of AMRUT (Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation) .
On the occasion, M Joy Singh, IAS, Commissioner (MAHUD); Robert Kshetrimayum, Director (MAHUD); Laishram Shyamjit Singh, Senior Technical Director ; SIO, NIC, Manipur; Nepram Gitkumar Singh, consultant ( MAHUD) and Yumnam Narmada Devi, Chief Town Planner/State Mission Director (AMRUT) Town Planning Department, Manipur, graced the event as chief guest, guests of honour and president respectively.
Addressing the gathering, M Joy Singh stated that launching the three online municipal services will bring more transparency in works as it avoids middlemen.
It will save time and effort of citizens as well as service providers since it will work 24x7.It will also create more revenue for the Government and physical distances will not be a factor as an individual can apply from his/her home.
People will no longer need to physically come to the office for some of their work, he added.
Commissioner (MAHUD) expressed desire for implementation of online service for 'Registration of Shops and Establishment' in the near future as it will help a lot of shop owners as well as the people.
The programme, which was organized by Town Planning Department officials, saw the attendance of urban local bodies' staff and representatives of municipal councils.
It may be mentioned that the services can be availed from the Service Plus website
(serviceonline.gov.in) .
Registration (new user) should be done to apply for the desired service.
Any citizen who wants to avail the services can create their account and apply for the offered services.
Opening a user account not only helps in applications but also helps in knowing the service status.
The online services have been developed by the National Informatics Centre, Manipur and funded by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Govt of India.
These online services were developed by using the Service Plus Application of NIC, Delhi.
