They accused the Ibobi Government of following a systematic policy of sabotaging and jeopardizing the Na- gas of Manipur through muscle power and military might.
They also blamed the state for conspiring to abolish village republic as well as land holding system of tribal people and termed the New Land Use Policy as organized methodology of intruding into the Naga's land.
Vice president of Naga Hoho, S Kamei asserted that he has come to check the prevailing chaos in the town and also to take stock of the ongoing adversities of the people in Ukhrul District.
The Naga Women Union condemned any form of violence though it has not been reported so far.
It further asserted that the people are being suppressed unnecessarily by deploying additional state security forces and promulgating the 144 CrPC.
UNC president Adani stated that the time has come for the Nagas of Manipur to sort out an action plan.
He further asserted that though the people have not advocated the use of force or violence, the opposition tried to flush out the Naga activists from the land.
He added that the Nagas would not follow the diktat of the state Government.
Asserting that the State Government has misguided the central Government, UNC general secretary said that after signing the agreements of Indo-Naga cease fire and Kuki's SoO, there have been no reports of violence in the hill districts.
He stated that with huge deployment of security forces when Th Muivah visited the State in 2010 and when Nephiu Rio visited Senapati district in 2011, the State Government instigated violence by denying the rights of the Naga people.
The high level meeting was attended by more than 250 which included villages headmen, chairmen, former TNL presidents, student leaders, womenfolk and representatives from Zeliangrong Baudi and they shared a common vision.
The meeting ended with a commitment that the Nagas in general will support the decision of UNC and Naga Hoho towards fructifying the Nagas' political struggle and common aspirations.
The Naga civil society leaders also assured their support and cooperation to the Tangkhul civil organizations' demand for revocation of 144 CrPC, unconditional release of the arrested NSCN-IM cadres, withdrawal of police commandos and IRB from the district and maintain the status quo of WTR which is a liaison office.
