Imphal, June 17 2022: Keishamthong AC MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam has reiterated that he would act in accordance with all the assurances given ahead of the Assembly election and spare no effort to deliver them.

The MLA who also is a proprietor of The Sangai Express made the statement during a felicitation ceremony of two students from the Constituency who secured positions in the Higher Secondary Examination 2022 conducted by CoHSEM and another six persons who lended a helping hand to douse a fire at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai recently.

Addressing a function at his Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai residence today, Nishikant continued that some section of people spreading lies about his endeavour is unfortunate.

Saying that instances of water inundation were significantly lower this year in Keishamthong which is prone to flood as many drains were cleaned ahead of the monsoon, Nishikant said that some section raising illogical arguments is truly unfortunate.

The MLA further stated road infrastructures in the AC were hardly repaired in the last 10 years or so.

Informing that he hasn't received any Local Area Development Fund till date, the MLA stated that he had done whatever he can for the Constituency from his pocket.

He said that he will take up developmental activities once the fund is released and keep the same in black and white.

On road infrastructure, Nishikant said that he could not implement any project without going through official process.

The MLA also stated that he is constantly discussing ways to improve the infrastructure in Keishamthong with the Ministers and officers concerned .

"Personally I don't like lobbying but this is for the people of Keishamthong and there is no shame in it ," he said.

Saying that he will give more emphasis on improving the living standard of the underprivileged section, the MLA said that he is also preparing to install high mast lamps in the AC.

Nishikant further stated that he will strive his level best to make sure every citizen in the AC is benefited by the Government schemes.

Later, the MLA bestowed a shawl, bouquet, and cash incentives to the position holders - Uniqueca Laisom who stood 9th position in the Arts stream from Keishamthong Laisom Leirak and Dhanthoi Soubam who bagged 11th position in the science stream of the HSE, 2022 .

Nishikant also presented a similar present along with cash incentives to the six persons who assisted in dousing a fire at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai recently.

The six persons are Sougrakpam Romeo (member of Team Nishikant), Md Jamijur, Md Samir, Md Kafur, Md Ethem and Md Ebungo.
