Claiming that the murderers of Laishram Malemnganba have been identified, the Pambei-led UNLF has assured that the murderers would be awarded befitting punishment.
15 year old Laishram Malemnganba of Moirang-kampu Awang Leikai was shot dead by some unidentified persons near his home on February 10 .
The murder has been investigated by the outfit and the main culprit has been identified as Huiningshung-bam Yumlingba alias Poireinganba of Lamboi Khul, Imphal East said a press release issued by the outfit's Department of Publicity and Education Direc- tor Charairongba Thok-chom.
Yumlingba alias Poireinganba is under BMT in the 35th batch of MPA in July 2009.But he was not qualified to be an MPA fighter and he ran away from the party, it said.
In the midst of the violent conflict which erupted on May 3, 2023, he came back with a request to rejoin the party and he was allowed to work for the party for sometime on probation.
During this probationary period, Yumlingba alias Poireinganba was found working with another group.
He was then summoned and warned in unambiguous terms not to defy the party's rules and principles.
On November 3, 2024, Yumlingba alias Poireinganba was granted leave for five days to go home.
But he did not report to his camp even after the end of his leave.
