Imphal, October 16 2015 : One person was killed while another escaped with injuries in a road accident that took place at Wangkhem along Imphal-Yairipok road under Imphal East district at around 9.20 am today.

A motorcycle (Yamaha R-15) heading towards Imphal from Yairipok collided head on with a Honda Active scooter coming from the opposite direction.

Md Illiaz (35) s/o Ali Ahamad of Yairipok Ningthounai who was riding the motorcycle was killed on the spot while Toijam Tomba (46) s/o Iboton of Yairipok Bishnunaha Awang Leikai sustained critical injuries.

Tomba who was riding the Honda Activa was taken to JNIMS.

While a case has been registered at Irilbung police station in connection with the incident, body of the deceased victim has been deposited at JNIMS mortuary.
