Three hurt in blast

Imphal, June 14 2014 :
At least two persons were hurt when an IED exploded at Moirangkhom at around 12.50 pm today.
Reports culled from the spot said that the IED exploded at a laundry shop run by a non-Manipuri at Moirangkhom Sougaijam Leikai on the western side of Imphal-Moreh highway.
Bachaspatimayum Govind (74) s/o late Mukta of Nagamapal Laimayum Leirak and Phurailatpam Ibomcha (54) s/o late Gourachandra were hit by splinters.
Amakcham Anil (22) s/o Tiken of Kongba Nandeibam Leikai too sustained injuries.
ovind sustained injuries on the right leg while Ibomcha was hurt on the right hand.
Govind and Ibomcha have been taken to Raj Medi City while Anil was rushed to JNIMS.
Govind came to attend a religious gathering held at the residence of Ibomcha across the highway.
They are said to be relatives.
Vijay Rajat Shri Ram Chandra Rajat (36) from Bhojpur district, Bihar who run the laundry shop was sleeping inside the shop when the bomb exploded.
However, he escaped the explosion unscathed.
One RK Jhaljit (45) of Yaiskul Janmasthan who pulled up his car near the blast site to receive/make a phone call was deafened by the sound of the blast for some minutes and the car's rear wind screen and windows were partially shattered by the impact of the blast.
The impact of the blast blew apart the wooden laundry shop.
Imphal West District Police came and inspected the blast site.
They recovered two SIM each of Airtel and Idea from amongst the debris.
On account of the explosion, there was traffic jam on the highway for sometime.
