Truck driver killed, 3 hurt

Imphal, March 14 2016: A truck driver was killed and three others were critically injured when their vehicle plunged into a deep gorge near Lukhambi Part-II along National Highway 37 under Tameng-long district early today.

The deceased has been identified as Khaidem Naoton Singh son of Kh Mocha of Kumbi Waithou under Bishnupur district.

The injured have been hospitalized at the nearby hospital, sources said.

The ill-fated truck engaged in railway construction work was badly damaged in the mishap that occurred around 9 am.

In yet another road mishap, a 17 year old youth died after he was knocked down by a car today at about 5 pm at Hatta.

Two men were hurt after their car collided with a Tata mini truck at Nambol Sabal Leikai Kabo Wakching in Bishnupur around 5 pm yesterday.

They have been treated at a hospital following the mishap.
