State may bar entry of Myanmarese vehicles

After Myanmar clamped restriction on entry of Indian vehicles into its country, Manipur may prohibit entry of Myanmarese vehicles into the State.
Sources said Myanmar barred entry of Indian vehicles into its country after villagers of Holenphai protested against a Brigadier of Myanmar Army, who came to the village to take a horse on March 27 .
After the incident, Myanmar prohibited entry of Indian vehicles starting from Gate Number 1.However, pedestrians were allowed to enter .
The sources said in the aftermath of the prohibition order of the Myanmar Government, Government of India is likely to take a firm decision on barring entry of Myanmarese vehicles into the country.
In this regard, DC Tengnoupal has sent a written missive to the State Home Department to prohibit entry of Myanmarese vehicles into the State.
Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, Vikram Misri paid a visit to Moreh to take a first hand account of the incident.
The State Government had sent a report to Home Ministry and External Affairs Ministry urging to intervene into the matter, the sources added.
