32 new COVID-19 positive cases detected at Thangmeiband

Whereas 32 cases of COVID-19 have been detected anew at Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai and Thangmeiband Yumnam Leikai, cases of local transmission have been rising incessantly in the State.
Meanwhile, a late report informed that MLA Fajur Rahim (Wabagai) who has been under paid quarantine at Hotel Imphal was tested positive for the virus today.
Out of 100 samples collected from the two Thangmeiband localities, 26 belonging to Sinam Leikai and six residents of Yumnam Leikai were found positive for COVID-19 after rapid antigen test, sources informed.
The 100 samples were tested after tracing contacts of people who have been already tested positive.
Rapid antigen tests done at Oriental College today found 10 people positive and another one at Phayeng.
According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, 100 people including 43 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for COVID-19 at RIMS, JNIMS, Imphal West RAT, Babina Diagnostic Centre, DH Kamjong, DH Ukhrul, Raj Medicity and DH Kakching during the last 24 hours.
Of the 100 people tested positive, 34 belong to Imphal West, nine to Kamjong, six to Imphal East, two each to Churachandpur and Kakching and one each to Thoubal, Senapati, Kangpokpi and Chandel.
Among the 57 civilians tested positive, 50 have no history of travelling outside the State.
On the other hand, 78 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from CRPF CCC (15), RIMS (7), CCC Meitram (21), CCC Senapati (3), CCC Thoubal (19), CCC Kasom (1), CCC Churachandpur (6) and RD Wing (4) .
The State's total tally of COVID-19 positive cases has surged to 3853 (general public 2977, Central security personnel 876) including 1720 active cases (general public 994, Central security personnel 726) and 2122 recovered cases (general public 1972 and Central security personnel 150) .
The recovery rate on Monday is 55.07 per cent.
Meanwhile information received from JNIMS said that five people were found infected by COVID-19 out of 176 samples tested at the hospital today but their details could not be ascertained till the time of filing this report.
Further, seven people were found positive after rapid antigen test at Thoubal district hospital today.
Moreover, two police personnel posted at Mayang Imphal police station and another individual staying at RIMS quarters have also been found positive for the contagion.
