Former Cong Minister joins BJP

Former AICC member Moi-rangthem Hemanta who was elected from Wangjing-Tentha Assembly constitu- ency three times and even held ministerial post has quit Congress and joined BJP together with five Pradhans.
Dr Dwijamani who contested the last Assembly election in Uripok A/C as independent candidate and political activist Md Anwar Hussain too have joined the saffron party.
The Pradhans who joined BJP together with M Hemanta are representatives of Tekcham, Wangjing, Tentha, Sapam and Langathel Gram Panchayats.
According a warm reception to all the politicians who have joined BJP, the party's State unit president Th Chaoba said that the Narendra Modi wave which swept across the country before the last Parliamentary election has not receded even today.
As a ripple effect of the Narendra Modi's rising popularity, many political leaders have started joining BJP one after another.
With many well known political leaders enrolled in the rank of BJP State unit, the party has gained more than enough strength to take on the Congress Government head on.
Saying that BJP State unit would set up an organ exclusively for Zilla Parishads, Pradhans and Gram Panchayats, Chaoba said that BJP is working on a plan which can effectively check MLAs from forfeiting rights of local bodies.
BJP would not accept the practice of distribution of old age pension, Indira Awaz Yojana money or PDS items.
The matter would be reported to the Centre, if necessary.
The party would not tolerate any act of fraudulence like reducing the number working days for MGNREGS, the State's failure to produce 10 per cent share for implementing the scheme, misappropriation of 25 per cent of the total fund by MLAs in connivance and in the name of line departments, Chaoba asserted.
Informing that Amit Saha took charge of BJP central president since today with due approval of the parliamentary board after former president Rajnath Singh was inducted into the Council of Ministers as Union Home Minister, Chaoba pledged that he would under the leadership of the new president so as to ensure BJP's victory in the next Assembly election.
Manipur would soon see a dramatic change in its electoral politics and there would be BJP Government in the State, he claimed.
M Hemanta said that he joined BJP at the suggestion of his advisors and well wishers, according to whom the time for Congress is over.
He also blamed the Congress for favouritism and nepotism.
Dr Dwijamni said that he joined BJP for he believes in BJP's ideology and philosophy.
