Imphal, October 08 2015:
RIMS contract employees have begun their indefinite cease work demanding service regularisation from today.
In this regard, the contract employees also staged a demonstration in front of the office of RIMS Director at around 9 am today.
Non-teaching Employees Welfare Association president S Sanatomba said that around 300 persons have been working on contract basis in the premier medical institute of the State since 2002 .

However, RIMS authority has not taken any visible step to regularise the services of these long suffering employees till date, he said.
Unlike the medical institutes of other States, which are under Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 50 per cent increment of DA for contract employees has never been translated into action at RIMS, he said.
Although, contract employees work same like the regular employees, they get only Rs 5250 to Rs 7000 per month as salary, he said.
As such, the contract employees would continue the cease work stir until their service is regularised, Sanatomba said.
